Friday practice finished. Cool track!! Awesome layout, but marred by some serious bumps. Wakey is billiard table smooth by comparison. There's some faaaast downhill bits that are scary-fun. And some cool cresting wheelie spots too!

My trailer parked next to Brayden Elliott's trailer.

Maybe I need to buy a Jeep. Then "we're gonna need a bigger trailer" (in best little kid's voice from the Jeep ad).

    And with good reason

Tops layout, bad surface, fairly primitive facilities (although they are a LOT LOT better than Broadford!!). Actually, if the carports had walls/doors, it'd be perfect facilities. Everything else is spot on.

The Creek could learn a lesson or two as well: they have lots of fixed colour cameras all around the track, so from race control they can see EVERYTHING. Farken great idea that.

Main problem is that the bitch can't easily see the track and complains ....

Compared to the other tracks in Qld, I like Morgan Park the best. You are right about the surface but it's still a fun track.

Yep, and lucky too because I forgot my gennie!! They recently upgraded the power, and it was rock solid all weekend.

Yeah the entry for the Master of Morgan Park says

 "I understand that tyre warmers must be powered by a generator and not the venue circuits;"

    But

CARPORT (PER DAY INCLUDES POWER)) _______ (QTY) _______ (DAYS) X $50.00

But I suspect that Tech is not their thing eg the Friday 8th Ride day had the date as the 5th and in the schedule some date in March (fixed now)

Yah, it was. I was a couple (at least) seconds off the pace of the mid-pack. It always seems to take me ages to get used to a new track. In that race I went 1.5 secs quicker than my previous best (qualifying). The 2nd race I went another second quicker again, but by then I was too far behind.

Mind you, because the Unlimited class got canned at the last minute, I missed out on half the track time I was expecting. As it was, we didn't get a lot of time on track. Although plenty of guys who were also there for the first time went heaps quicker than me, so it's just me. Maybe I'm getting old.....

Great vid! That's crazy about the Kangaroo!
Looked like a nice wee track. Shame the surface wasn't too good.

Ah.... err... not quite. I was honestly very close, but have decided not to now. A bunch of the riders have organised a truck (fairly cheap per bike, considering), but it's to and from Melbourne, so I'd still need to get a bike to Melbourne first. So no, the honour of visiting Perth and circulating on my own at the back of the field at great expense will have to wait until next year. Hopefully the transport situation will have improved by then.

I am however still very keen to do the Tassie round.
