I just want a reliable bike that's got the brakes done, QS, and got some power about it. Would like spares, tyre warmers, stands etc. I'm a newbie and want something for the track as I'm selling my roady.

If you want all that you're probably looking more for a 06/07 R6 and there will be a lot more giving than taking on that price to include the extra bits... Grant is selling a well sort out almost new ZX6R (2010?) for not much more than that too. Might be worth a look if you're not 100% set on getting the R6.

Spilly was selling his 08 R6 on FB came with spares, Mupo, new glass, rims, been dyno'ed. Was originally a Marshy build. Or speak with Nick, he still builds R6's.

It did occur to me overnight that this was a complete thread jack. I'm glad you guys have dragged it back on track. I'll respond to my part back in my clubsport build thread. As far as your search goes man, there are some good deals out there but that's not a very realistic figure for what you're hoping for. A not bad wreck from the auctions as a starting point will cost you between 4-5 ½ k. An R6 with what you're after in that price range would no doubt have had a very hard life, or be part of a deceased estate.....

-Full danmoto exhaust system
- power commander.
-Double bubble screen
-clip on bars
-short leavers
-520 chain and sprocket conversion with two teeth up on the rear.

These two statements do not match up. Anything set up, well looked after and less than 8 years old will cost more than that. Anything under $6K will either be much older, or need money spending on it. Unless you really know what you're doing and can do all the work yourself, it's a false economy buying cheap bikes as you end up spending more money on them in the long run.

Grant's ZX6 would be a great buy if you were flexible on brand, but if you are dead set on buying an R6, you will need to up your budget or lower your expectations.

There are some out there around that number on FX ... ... confusion lies in all the gadgets ... there are A LOT of gadgets / parts as Jamie can attest ... hit up Marshy for a QS they are the ducks nuts.

I have heaps, and it's always been fine. If it's from a racer, the community is too small to fuck people over, and most people are very honest about it as you (or your mates, or forum buddies) are gonna see them at the next race meet anyway.
