Thanks guy's, qualifying ended up getting cut short with a bit of oil on the front straight. I got a 135.48 lap in before that happened and ended up with last spot on the front row. Great weather today and looks good for the rest of the weekend also

Bit of a mixed bag today. Started race 1 on p4 and was coming third into turn one on the first flying lap behind Ben Henry and Paul Byrne feeling good when my motor cut out. I have a cut out switch wired in similar to a jet ski and the Velcro came loose, the pin came flying out and the motor stopped making noises . It is crazy that I ran it all through practice and qualifying and no hint of a problem and first race it commits suicide on me.
Second race I started from the back of the grid with a few others that came to grief in race one. From 26th I ended up 5th ( which should have been 4th with better race craft ) and set a new PB of 1 35.15 . The third race I started in 5th got as high as 3rd at the end of the second lap and finished 5th. Really good racing in other classes also. See what tomorrow brings.

Shame about the switch Steve, but bugger me 1:35.15 that's impressive, plus 5th from 26th! Just must have scared the shit out of the "other" end of the field!
Good luck for tomorrow, & keep us all posted.

Wow, great result! Sucks about the cut-out! Good luck tomorrow and to everyone else racing too!

Marshy got me thinking the other day about using 3rd coming onto the straight instead of 2nd because I have been having trouble getting the power laid down to the ground. I tried it and ended up going one tooth less on the rear and still using second. Not sure if it is optimal but it is definitely better than it was. So a big thank you to the right honorable sir Nick. Thank you sir.

    Anytime mate

In other news, our good friend Pete Frost tried a rear Bridgestone V02 today, and finally got into the 39s!!! I'm not saying the two things are necessary related, but regardless it's a fantastic result. Bravo, Frosty!

I am thinking about trying a Dunlop control rear tyre tomorrow as a back to back comparison to the bridgestone.

  19. #19
That would be fascinating! I don't rate the 886, which is the rear for the creek, I believe. The softer compounds are better, like the 998, but they don't use them at the creek rounds.

Actually, I'm not sure now which compound is being used. Anyone know?

I was in scrutineering/ dyno all weekend. I felt for you when you told me about the lanyard Steve ( I didn't know it was you) but at least it wasn't an unknown electrical issue that haunted you all weekend and you and bike were all good.

sounds like some great PBs there and the racing all round was great.

hope those that came to some grief get sorted/ mended soon.

    Cheers

    Mick

Crazy day today , Morning warm up I had a bad shudder in the front end. I had just changed the pads but it ended up being loose steering head bearings. I didn't have time to fix it before the first race and it contributed to a little low side at t9 while in 5th place and doing it easy. I picked the bike up and the only damage was engine protectors so I finished the race to check the rest of the bike and try and salvage some grid positions. Back in the garage I torqued the bearing up and there was still movement so that was the end of our week end . A little disappointing but good to know the speed is there . Thank you for all the well wishes

A pleasure steve. We were a bit short staffed at times but always looking at how we can improve.

Bugger with how your Sunday unfolded. You got a few mentions on the live streaming race 1 Foz . ..
