    ASBK 2016 and beyond

It seems MA have found the right man to lead it's revival.
It will be interesting to see how his vision works for incorporating us lower end riders over the next 4 years.
First problem....secure track venues for 2017 and beyond

I think this is a great move as Bayliss has done an amazing job with his flat track event and his motor shows.
while there will be strategic changes to increase participation in the sport a key component of our plan is a renewed focus on the fan experience
Promoting it would be a nice start as even followers of the sport would have struggled the last ten years to know when races are on.

It's fantastic news! The 2016 calendar has a couple of challenges (WA and Qld only 2 weeks apart), but at least two of the six rounds are in NSW!! I'm in for sure, for the whole season.

Bayliss doing a couple of wild card appearances would bring a few more spectators.

He gets thousands to Old Bar in January for the Bayliss Classic flat track event. Sure he could get fans to SMSP.

What does this mean for TON?

This looks like some great direction for the nationals!!
Very good to see, after an underwhelming 2015.

No and no. Not yet anyway. I'd bet the farm on the regs being as per the CGRs. No major surprises; most classes have been pretty standard and consistent as of the last couple of years now, with essentially superstock rules: no engine mods, aftermarket suspension and exhaust ok, etc.

Interesting interview with Yamahahahaha about the difficulties of having two competing series: http://www.mcnews.com.au/yamaha-md-t...ven-cotterell/
