I spend money on multiple bikes rather than all my money into one bike (I'm back to 4 RSV4s again). I'm insanely jelly though!! Nice bits of kit.

    What I did yesterday.......

Dropped a washer the size of a 50 cent piece into the crankcase......big fail

Managed to fish it out of the depths of the engine with a magnet....huge win

Test rode the new S1000RR today. It's a massive upgrade over the old one, which I didn't even think was possible :S

My one arrives this week sometime, I'm so extremely excited

Awesome! I've heard great things about them. What colour scheme did you get?
    Any plans for upgrades?

I got the tricolour, aka the good colour scheme. I'm not even going to change the can, stock one sounds mad as is... plus everything I've read suggests that power commanders etc are a bit of a waste of money unless you need to tune for a new exhaust. And it has more torque.
Electronic damping is amazing, riding on shiiiiithouse torn up roads (gardeners road near canal road) and it just is so solid and planted, unbelievable. Did I mention that there is more torque for more wheelies

Everyone go test ride one of these things. You *will* buy one. We could have the best club ever

Congratulations, she's is a beauty ... by chance does your plan for the weekend involve curves?

[I would never trust myself to ride anything this big on the road ... I may as well save time and stop off at the local cop shop before they come looking for me.]

LOL! I should've been a little clearer.... The handsome gentleman is a thing of beauty, but the bike is only slightly less pig-ugly than the previous model

Lol! Reckon they did it deliberately?? Kind of a cryptic joke to the world?

Actually, probably not. Ze Germans aren't known for their larrikin sense of humour.

Could never understand why the bmw had 2 different headlights . Its a really nice looking bike until you see the headlights then it just says to me , two different blokes must have designed a headlight each and no one picked up that they were different or no one could make a decision as to which one looks the better . its just wrong.

How many cars do you see driving with 2 different headlights? ...

Although the bmw track bikes that dont have the headlights now that looks much better .

I assume you mean 30mm Ohlins? Not sure why there'd be mixed reports..... they are universally considered to be crap.

Owen has Ktech carts in his Champ R6. I've revalved them many a time. What would you like to know?

    Nice shiny bits, btw

Hey nick, yeah mate the 30mm ohlins... So this is what i have read, but also read that some say they are good.

I am thinking about not getting the ohlins put in and selling them and then buying the ktech carts. I saw you can get the carts and valves as a kit at a fair price. They have about 3 different versions though obviously increasing in price and a from memory there where 20mm and 25mm versions.

  29. #679
The 20mm Ktech are the gas-pressurised jobbies. Very nice, but out of my price range. I got the 25mm open (conventional) carts. They took a bit of dialling in, like anything.

Happy to talk you through the various options. Gimme a call during the week sometime.

The 25mm Ohlins are the ducks, Ktech a redesigned similar... the 30mm are finicky to get right and seem to work better on the bigger bikes.

Have had both and I would recommend the 25s, especially on the 600
