Hmmmm. Considering the agonisingly long wait to St George round two, the almost certain canning of ASBK, and the still completely daft and un-enterable FX600 (sorry, Supersport) rules I might be tempted to enter this.

Yeah, that's why this whole bullshit infighting between the promoters is such a shame.

What kind of bike? Crappy, I'll bet. Why is it that prize bikes are always el-crappo?!?

On a completely unrelated note, does anyone want to buy two brand new Honda CRF110Fs??? Seriously, make me an offer, please.

You gotta figure two little dirt bikes as a prize for a road racing championship has to be right up there with most inappropriate prizes

    Kinda nuts, right?

Hey, funny story! I said to the Honda dude that dropped the bikes off "Thanks for supporting St George yada yada.... I'm more than happy to run Honda stickers on my bike this season in recognition". His response: "But you ride a Yamaha! Nah, that's ok."

    thinking about it!

How would the 600 class for a D grade rider compare to the st George 600's? I ended up 8th in the last race at st George with a high 142 and consistent low 143's

    FXRRC rnd 1

FXRRC are pretty relaxed still like STG

I'm thinking of just having a go myself to be honest!

  23. #23
I wouldn't normally (I avoid FX events as a general rule) but I like the 'club' style and the prizes on offer - they've just copied from St George (it even says so in the supp regs, several times) which isn't a bad thing - and because of the 6 months to the next St George round, I'm tempted too.

You'll be fine, mate... might even pick up a trophy there in D grade if you maintain that rithm.

Can you fibreglass it? Or maybe bolt some ABS plastic onto it from some other road fairing?? Would be cool to see the Aprilia on track! Make it happen I reckon!

Far out! Looks like it took him nearly a year to do. I don't have that kind of patience, but it looks good.

Umm, so I was wrapping up for the night and washing my hands at the tap outside, which is next to a pile of fairings waiting to be fixed, and I happened to notice something.....

So I head back into the workshop for half an hour, and suddenly I'm thinking I might be cross-entering into Pro-Twins!!

A few more cable ties still needed (I need to lockwire the sump plug before mounting it up properly), but it's 90% of the way there. It's actually really rather solid! It's got bungs already in the bottom of it too.

    Thoughts??

did you end up setting up to race shift???

    And how did it go.

  50. #50
Yep, easy peasy, as it turned out. I did a bunch of googling (how did we ever survive before the interwebs??) and after wading through endless ads for aftermarket levers and whole rearsets, I finally found someone that pointed out that all you needed to do was turn the gear lever over!! Most importantly, the factory quickshifter still works perfectly.
