Less flaggies at MEGA ride days?

Have they cut down on flag staff at the mega SMSP ride days? I noticed there were no flaggies at T7 and T15 this weekend. Might have been more missing but I wasn't looking out that much.

whats the deal with flaggies? are they regular workers or is it some sort of volunteer set up?

They get paid, but only about half of what they should. The marshals that do scrutineering and check wrist bands do it in exchange for track time, but the rest of the ride day workers are paid positions.
