As I mentioned last month, early January will be time to resurface Turns 4 and 15, and undertake other maintenance to make ready for 2015. Taken out of the news letter.

maybe the section of track with no bitumen at all in turn 1 and the rest of the berm there might get a go too

That would be nice! Although I've FINALLY (after 16 years of trying) got a bike to go through there without feeling like I'm gonna crash every time.

Wonder how the lap times will reflect the changes. From everything I've ever read though, most resurfacing is super slipper to begin with no? Or will they go the Philip Island style and make it so grippy that your tyres just shred apart?

When they resurfaced T2 and the others a few years ago, it was immediately slightly more grippy. The tyre wear seemed the same, but the new surface just ATE knee sliders! My 2nd session I wore through the slider AND the velcro and leather underneath..... I hadn't realised the slider had gone from nearly-new to nearly-worn-out in the first session alone, and the 2nd session did the rest. Amazing. It's still way more abrasive on sliders, even a couple of years later, but I quickly learnt not to use them as a 3rd wheel and so don't wear them out so fast now.

Drill one of these into your knee slider and problem solved! Even comes with an extra brake.

Hmmm. That's a good ? The way I see it, you need it rear facing for the first couple of laps because my starts are rubbish, and then forward facing for when I catch and pass you on my 09 weapon

You know, I always do the right thing by you and face one each way
