    Shoei x12

Has anyone seen any deals in Australia on a new shoei x12, looking for a medium or large.

    Cheers

I just got one from Helmet Warehouse. $100 under retail... Not much of a deal tho.
If you're not using it on the road, it doesn't have to be 5 tick etc.

I raced my UK XR1000 for StG. It's ACU Gold and passed scrutineering no problem at all.
    Would not pass now tho

fc-moto.de is cheap. They are almost always out of stock of the most popular colours and sizes, but it's often worth a look.

is there any other type for your melon you only get 1 chance

Bell is next on my list. I've used Arai all my life, but they are getting really exxy and sometimes don't last very long (a small off can be very costly when your $1,200 helmet lightly touches down, turning it into a very expensive pool room decoration). Besides, what used to be very difficult to get right - making a helmet safe enough to protect your head in a high speed crash - has become easier and cheaper with the vast improvement in materials and manufacturing capabilities.

Bell is a great helmet and fits my noggin real well.

The Bell's sat to low on my forehead. Like the cheap AGV's. Arai's fit my head best but the compromise for me is the Shark's.

No drama with using helmets from over seas for racing?

    From ma below.

13.10.2.1 Helmets must carry one of the following approval labels:
    a) Europe
    ECE 22 - 05 ‘P’,‘NP’ or ‘J’ [Label affixed inside the helmet]
    b) USA
DOT Federal Standard No 218 / SNELL M2005, M2010 [Label affixed inside the helmet]
    c) Japan
JIS T 8133: 2007 [Label affixed inside the helmet]
    d) Australia
    Standards Association of Australia AS1698

My melon is in beautiful perfect proportions. It's the rest of the body that's a problem.

Having two would be a good idea for scrutineering, & something I should look into down the track

Scotland doesn't get a look in on helmet design, so you'll just have to trust that my face is painted half blue under my new one!
+1 for the X12, I seem to have a Shoei shaped head.
