I was thinking about going in both but since I can't ride 2 bikes at once opted not to...

Come on Mick I'm sure you can, either that or just sneak Joe in to jump on one
Dan is rym and retro

Congrats marshy. U rode like a trooper. Congrats to all others who rode today as well. Was a great day and plenty of fun. Still grinning. .. Some spectacular racing and performances out there. . Was an absolute hoot.... Looking forward to the next one

Credit to dan. He was getting great starts and shoving it in where he could. Doing rym and retro on the old girl would have taken its toll but Dan kept it going taking home some trinkets.

I'm going to assume that Dan is the same Dan I met in RYM on the old GSXR600, and his race win was after getting me at turn 10 :P
Yesterday was my first race having entered in RYM. I qualified 1st and pretty much led from the front.....until Dan found his speed and caught up to me on the last lap of Race 2 (I think he was starting from the 3rd row). He got me at turn 8, I returned the favour but he succeded out braking me in 10 and the drag to the line.
Race 4, and he managed to catch me by the 2nd last lap. I could see/hear him coming me and my pitcrew was waving at me furiously from the wall, telling me to speed up. Pressure got to me and I ran wide at T9, but managed to switch back and get the drive out of T10. Just squeezed my nose in-front by .06s for the win.
Didn't manage to catch you after the race Dan, but that was awesome fun. Might see you in Retro 600 next time
I also managed to drop almost 2 seconds off my previous PB setting a 1.07.6 (coincidentally, this was on the final lap when I was trying to stay in-front ) Amazing what a bit of pressure can do to push past you're comfort zone.
Here's a quick vid:

I really felt for you Mark, but impressive it was!! you probably didn't get to see it as you were in the race, but Ben pretty much out braked everyone into 10 and out dragged people out of 9 and 10
and congrats on the new PB!!! you were flying out there.. was a great spectacle to watch!

Pretty sure dan got 1st in his rym class and 1st in d grade retro..💃
Life's too Short- YOLO!
Ok, no more finding parts for his zx6 then hahaha
Had a pretty bad day trying out a different shock and heavier spring set up. Completely destroyed my confidence. Ended up doing mid 7's so about 2 seconds off pace.
Ended up getting 2nd in class because one of the other blokes dnf'd the 3rd race. time to go back to the softer spring I thinks! Never even saw Carl so you must have picked up some good time since the 4 hour!
Your first post and it already has a video from the race before anyone else**?? You Sir are will always be welcome around here.
**Marshy is excuse seeing as he's got 12 different angles to choose from whilst editing so that can be a little time consuming I suppose... He has till Monday.
Welcome Zooker.. yep that's the same dan...
you guys were on different grids weren't you?
cheers
Mick
Edit --
Ed - I blame you for me not being organised to take video footage...you are the gizmo guru (along with Jamie) and I needed you to sort out the cameras.... Alas...I failed....

Yea different grids as he qualified a bit slower early in the morning. But still ended up a race to the line twice since he kept catching me.
1:07s are great mate...no excuses now... time to enter FXRRC
Life's too Short- YOLO!
Good work zooker 1:07s is plenty fast enough for 600cc class!! was it just me or did your bike do some weird revving onto the straights in that video? slipping clutch?

I had a great time. Finally found my confidence for the first time since the great high side of 2013. Good racing with Geoff / zooker as well; really enjoyed the tustle. Consistently dropped times during the day and Finished up doing 1.06.2 on the 03 600 which I can't complain about! Won d grade retro and my rym row and as mentioned before my first outright race win from the third row. Really looking forward to the next round - might even change my eastern creek gearing for that one haha

Had heaps of fun in the retro 600s combo class with mick, mick and Kev. We had some real fun!

you had at least the length of the straight on him going into the last lap... I thought you had it..
Life's too Short- YOLO!
the triple 850 pulled well. Kev was a bit slower through the corners but unless you got around him in the twisties, then it was a struggle on the straights.. I tried several times to go up the inside of T10 and couldn't make it stick.
On the final lap, he came in tight into T10 to close the door on me but I was far enough back to go around the outside and sprint to the line. was a lot of fun battling. I reckon it would make a nice street fighter.
Life's too Short- YOLO!
Video of all my starts yesterday. I'm still trying to work out how to launch the Aprilia.... I tried a bunch of different things, mostly lower revs. Still not much worked!

Pro-Twins last race. This one was the mostest fun, chasing Kris around for most of the race. After the overtake into T10, we are literally handlebar to handlebar the entire length of the straight! It was fascinating that the bikes were so even. I was on the 09, which always feels slower than the '13. In very hot weather (above 30 degrees), I'm sure it really is slower, but below say 25 degrees ambient, it feels exactly the same. The motor runs at almost 100 degrees in the heat, compared to 80 for the '13, but as you can see in the vids, the 09 runs at the same lower temp in cooler ambient weather. I guess the take-home lesson is that excessive motor heat really does sap horsepower!
