    Chubb's new steed

Cheers Baddie. I will look at making something up.

This will have to do for the time being though.

Hid the fuse box and some wiring under the airbox so everything looks neater.

Also put the wheel so that it is rotating in the right direction. Previous muppet had it in the wrong direction (with the wheel sensor on the right not left)!! Even more puzzling why Kawasaki didn't design it such that the wheel only fits in the one direction! All sorted now though.

Put some block offs and removed the pair system.

The block offs that I had on the R6 fit straight on.

Nice one Chubb, bugger of a job bit needs to be done before tune.
Just add cap over bottom of air box whole, and job done

Oh, does it still have the flap on the intake ram tube?
If so that can be easily removed

    Chubb's new steed

Getting some Dyno love next Tuesday.

Does anyone know about getting another key cut? I got the little tag on the key but no red key. Does Kawasaki still have red key?

Can't they just remove immobilizer when you get it dynoed so normal cut key would work? Works on R6 ... otherwise copy of key without the master costs $250.

Not on zx6r. ..lose red key you need nu ecu.. expect the 10 to be the same. You can remove barrel and put it under the tank and wire a switch in line.. leave key in on position. ..

Worth a call for pricing at least

Preddy's locksmiths in Miranda (top locksmith IMHO, do the advanced stuff) advised me of the price $250 odd for one R6 copy ... I believe it's the same technique they use to copy the other electronic keys. From memory they can't create a new red from a black, only clone blacks.

    Mounted the lap timer.

Ideally I want it closer to the triple clamps but will have to make up a bracket. Gonna see how it is in this position first.

Those speed angles are a nice bit of kit. Looks quite neat where you have it now.

you won't see it there, it will be under your chin, you'll need it near your guages

    Chubb's new steed

I was gonna make a bracket for it to sit just behind the steering damper. This position will have to do till I get around it. It's only velcro'd down at the moment.

I probably will still run the wire under the tank somehow. I think...

  18. #68
I made a bracket up to mount just above steering damper, but did play with the idea to mount where you did also.

Get a RAM mount. Fix the base to the inside of your top faring, to left or right, whichever you prefer.

Mine sits where the red circle is on the pic. rock solid. Doesn't have to be moved. Surprisingly easy to glance across and see.
you're talking about 30-45 degree's of difference in vision to look down and see that position when you're on track.
I tried it at one stage. Felt miles away.

    Thats me.....

I used some angle from bunnings that I whacked with a mallet in a vice to get the right bend
    (Now sits closer to tach)

wow what a mess Rancell. the scratches on the fuel cap had to be the 1st reason not to go ahead with the purchase???????? and the rest of it , how the fuk does someone actually turn up to the track with such an ill prepared %^&*(@. and the reg rec placement ??? and what if you have a fuse pop , how long will it take to fault find?

Cliffy you got a dream ride and a bargain?

its a top idea to be able to run them both ways , buy another chopper plate and then you will never make a mistake like some have. If you rode it round the block the dash would have told you it was in backwards
old owner obviously just threw it in to sell

That's why I pulled apart the bike and am checking everything before I go out on a trackday. I don't want to be one of those people who delays everyone's track time and money with spilt coolant/oil etc

Faaark the power of the 10R! Rip my arms out everytime you wind on the throttle!

Very fun bike and very quick. Rider not so much. Still have it in pussy mode.

A false neutral during one of the sessions but that's because I was a numpty and didn't put a positive push on the gear lever. Think will have to adjust the gear shift lever and make it slightly higher.

Overall very fun bike! Will have to do more setup and have plenty of seat time I think.
