That was a while ago, so yesterday and today needed to see it finished before driving to Wakey. Carpet was first. Then some strategically placed eyelets for fuel and tools etc, and the wheel chocks (solidly bolted through the frame this time).
I downsized my trailer recently (so I could actually tow it with my little car), and as it was a dirt bike trailer, it needed a few mods. Firstly I removed the front wheel well, put a brace in and new chequerplate:
Then I used it a few times, but the wheel chocks weren't mounted properly, so had to fix that. Also, as the walls and fold-up tailgate are more than an inch thick (and it had shitty hinges) the lip created by the tailgate plus the hinges was about 2 inches high, and there was no way I could roll a roadbike backwards up and over a 2 inch lip!
So, with thanks to Baddie for the brilliant idea, and his help, we modded the tailgate to make it flush with the floor when folded down. It looks factory!!

Ready to travel!! The lower left tail light is out because that side was filled with water when I got it. It comes and goes; sometimes it works. After re-wiring most of the damn trailer, all the rest work, including the internal LEDs

I likey, nice work. My build trailer project is still floating around in my mind.
Last time i went to do it i built a new bike instead.
Looks great Nick. I'm a big fan of improvement over improvising
Nice work Nick
How is the height of the roof , looks close to the top of the screen in the photo . The screen on the bike on the rhs looks a bit higher .

I will have to come and have a look , im sure we could come up with a solution. possibly a hole cut out in the roof where the screen touches and a stainless raised plate over the hole to allow the roof to close without hitting the screen.
By how much do you think it needs clearance ? If its just the thickness of the roof then cut out a section and put a plate on the top to seal.

upgrade to a bigger trailer
or man up and get a big rig
T-rexs are good, just make sure you carry extra knobs just in case. I had one snap off after my little adventure through the T5 gravel trap which made things a bit annoying.

How did the T-Rex's hold up?
I was looking at some Pitbull trailer mounts that go through the rear axle. But these are Wayyyyyy cheaper.
I was just worried they might throw the rear wheel out slightly. As you can tell, I have zero mechanical knowledge regarding these things.
The T-Rexes were awesome!! Sooooo easy and quick to use. And the bikes were absolutely rock-solid all the way to Qld and back, waaaaay more solid than cranking down on straps. I had to order new spools, as the ones I had were too small, but once that was sorted, they are perfect!
I looked at the Pit Bulls, but they looked like waaaaay too much effort. You have to mount the bit to the bike before wheeling it in, then pick up the back of it with an ocky strap, then wheel it into the trailer, then release the ocky and lock in the back. Then reverse all that getting the bike out again. What a ball ache! With the T-Rex, you just park the bike as normal in a front wheel chock, then click them on and give them a couple of turns each side. Incredibly easy and quick. The only minor niggle is they look a bit messy lying on the trailer floor when they are not in use. I highly recommend them!
