    Motorland Aragon 11th-13th September 2015

Let the gloating begin, hopefully we have a bit better luck than at Brno . . .

Aragon is awesome, very new circuit. Twisty hillclimb for the first half of the lap, a big sweeper after the corkscrew then a 1km downhill straight taking you back to the start.
Best feature is the pretty much all tarmac run off, just 18" or so of green stuff to keep you honest. It's a great circuit for training and pushing yourself because you can bail out of a corner by just standing the bike up and running straight on. They even have little lanes for rejoining the track.

James, 2:21.02 is the time to beat to piss me off. Something you've managed on every trip you've come on so far :P

I think this one was No Limits. Simon and James will be able to tell you more tho.
Where you wanting to go? Got a bike sorted?

Last time I was over, we went to Cadwell Park and I got a bike through these guys:

If I'm ever rich, I'm going to spend 6 or so months doing a trackday tour of all those amazing euro tracks. Insanely Jealous! Enjoy!

PRETTY DAMN KEEN FOR THIS ONE!!!

    Tyres arrived today! Yiew!

Lawson - DEFO keep me in the loop. We book with No limits track days.
Any reason why you've chosen January? Might be hard to find a track day then as it seems to be a spring, summer and autumn affair. http://nolimitstrackdays.com/events-list.html

Zoidberg - you don't need to be rich! just slam it all on a credit card and do it now! You can deal with post euro track day blues and personal debt at the same time!

January because, my Girlfriend is going over to Spain for her Cousin's wedding.

I've said the only way I'm flying to Spain in WINTER (and for a wedding of all things) is if I get a track day out of it

Sorry I missed this at the time. Aragon was with No Limits. You're not going to have much choice in January but it's worth looking at:

    Almeria with Track Sense or
    Cartagena with No Limits

Almeria is quite challenging, not an easy track to learn. It's in quite a cool part of spain - where the old spaghetti westerns were filmed.
Cartagena I've not ridden yet but intend to next year.

Aragon went well, we managed to miss almost all of the forecast rain and I managed to go a heap faster than my last visit.

It was my first time there on the 1000cc, my old PB was set about 18 months ago on the CBR6 but when James was good enough to give me a shot for science purposes I was still 7 seconds quicker on that too.

I spent the first day under instruction by Mike Dickinson. He's an ex-South African champion turned professional coach. I was a little apprehensive about this as I've had instruction from celebs/ex-superstars before. While they're all very talented riders they're shite instructors. They don't know how they do it, why they're fast and certainly can't articulate it to someone like me. I don't respond well to the "just try going faster and braking less" instructors. I get the most from instructors who are specific about what to do and why, it's then much easier for me to trust them and push my boundaries a bit.

Saying that, a mate of mine that comes on just about every one of these trips too has had much the same experience with instructors as me. We did California Superbike School together and have also experienced some of the less gifted instructors I was talking about together too. He's already used Mike and been very happy with the results, in fact he's the only instructor (barring CSS) that he's been to more than once so I wasn't going in totally blind.

I don't think I've ever had such a knackering day riding but it was very worthwhile as it clearly shows in the laptimes and the neater riding. We got on well, he has exactly the kind of style I like. Specifics, no nonsense.
