Pirelli RR Series - Phillip Island, 26-28 Aug

This event is one of the reasons I didn't go to PI for St George (there were other very good reasons too, like it being the middle of freaking winter and brass monkey weather). Anyone else in?? It's a round of the BEARS National series, plus a major Vic club race. A heap of us have been a bunch of times, and it's always been a fantastic event.

YES! Last year 600cc was out first and we had 15 minutes to unload the trailer, get bikes and warmers up to temp, sign on and suit up! I ended up missing the first session!!

You must know some useful people (Jeebus?), because the weather cleared up nicely before lunch, and was fine all arvo!

It was a bit shit, but fortunately nobody was in a hurry to go out on a wet but drying track, so it was all good.

On the plus side, and in stark contrast to St George, we were scrutineered in our own garages this arvo. Easy peasy. We even got transponders already. So tomorrow morning is just turn up - no rush - and flick the warmers on. Everything is done!

Dunno why Race 2 doesn't have a result yet. Protest, maybe?

I was 3rd over the line. Chiodo on what looked like a Moto2 bike came past like we were standing still. So it's really a 2nd place, cos he's in F2 or F3, not F1. That's my story anyway!

It's supposedly a 675, but I doubt it. It's bloody fast!

For what it's worth (not much, I reckon, because it's a bit hit-and-miss) I had the highest top speed in race two. 281 through the trap. Nothing wrong with the legs on the Aprilia. It's sitting on the limiter for the last 100-200 metres, so doesn't get any faster.

Well done mate, What happened in race 4,
If you can make it to the 100 metre mark probably hit 290- 300 by the timing

Race 4 got red flagged after two laps, so a full restart was scheduled for after lunch. We restarted, I got the holeshot and led the first lap, crossed the line, then it got red flagged again! So they cancelled it. Bummer. But I had my lap in the sun
