Finally got a bit of spare time coming up this weekend.. While everyone is busy racing!!

The plan is to paint the fairings and get the wheels both main and spare sets some colour.

    Looking good Rancell!

How did the new suspension go? Happy with it?

Im considering giving my suspension an overhaul for 2014 as its all stock..

Yeah getting used to bouncy bits that actually work and the new 180/60 tyres.

I got a 2.09 at the full circuit at the ARDC day. Not fast by any means but its a huge improvement on the 2.18s I got previously.

Stewie has great aftersales service (etc like calling at 9.00pm the night before a track day!)

Good stuff, if you dont mind me asking, whats the rough ball park figure that your looking at for the front/rear?

Won't really get much change from 3k for carts and shock to suit your weight.

works very very well and solid feel from the front end.. and its cheaper than ohlins and what zeno wanted to charge me

  6. #56
Good stuff mate, try not too get too quick

  7. #57
After sales service and back up, are THE most important in my opinion and limited experience. Otherwise you may as well have $3k+ paperweights!

That's an awesome result Rancell. I guess I can kiss your tail fairing goodbye well and truly for a while

    Cheers Jamie!

it was actually looking at your R6 and being envious of the Ohlins that made me think of getting my suspension sorted!

Still finishing up the green set of wheels.

Then need to take the current set off and hit it with a coat of paint.

Today will be spent playing with wiring and electronics.

I need to relocate the horrible regulator rectifier location as the plastic mounts have cracked from where I crashed.

  23. #73
it normally goes onto the left side frame rancell or at least I think the yec kit puts it there

I relocated it where wetty puts it on the kwaks..

    Good airflow over there..

cleans up this wiring side of the rad.

  25. #75
Wetty puts them there 'cause he runs the KIT Ecu and that's where Kawasaki tells you to put them... and they don't let you put the rectifier anywhere else either 'cause the the lead on the race harness is just not long enough.

    ahh fair enough..

well if the bike does go down on the left hand side at least its not going to impact the rectifier like it did before.

I thought of putting it on the left hand side frame but read people on Wera and R6 forums having issues with them?? don't know if its because its on the frame

There's nothing wrong with having it under the tail like that... The rectifiers on the ZX6 tend to fry due to the heat and having it there seems to fix that so it can't be a bad thing.

I looked at doing a keyless ignition mod but due to the immobiliser you get on the UK & AU models I haven't figured a bypass yet.

So far the only way is to go YEC ECU and loom

Just put the whole key and ignition barrel under the seat, in the 'on' position, and run an on/off switch to the bars (or wherever). Easy peasy.

The keyless plan for mine is to go RFID fob in the leathers Chubb.
There are some very easy cheap solutions and instructions online for doing the job.

Up to Kitson's place tonight and check out his loom. Just need to test a couple of things that I think is what the problem is.

I just want to double check so I don't fry anything
