Not a bad idea... register a 3-digit racing number too so it doesn't look too obvious and maybe mount the number board on an angle! hahaha

    Lap Times

Was at EC and the bumps aren't bad.

Get your suspenders checked for high speed dampening. Or in general

His forks were recently serviced and tuned by me, so they were clearly not the problem
The rear shock still needs doing.

He was on 'completely shagged' tyres, which is the most likely culprit IMO. I've crashed before trying to get an extra day out of a tyre, like when I destroyed my shoulder 2 years ago. Cost me over $8k in repairs and medical costs. It's a false economy.

Ahh yes I toss tyres front ones before they hit the wear markers. Or sell.

The rear ones till the tyre marker or a little bit beyond.

Also did you want a little extra to chuck the rad guard in the post for me??

I'm not up in Sydney till the 12th. Coaching and setup day. Unless you can pop down to SMP south circuit on that day???

Well my first year of track riding is done. Racked up 6 + lvl1 css all up, hopefully more then that in 2014. Started the year doing 2:47 ended it with

    EC Full (Brabham?) circuit
    2010 ZX-6R
Pirelli Supercorsa sc1 front and rear
2:21 chasing my friend Reece around, 2:23 when setting my own pace.

Pretty pleased with that progress, I thought I was doing mid 2:30s

How bent is it? If it's just bent and not badly creased, any exhaust shop that mandrel bends should be able to straighten it for you.

I did a 2:09 at Eastern Creek Extended Brabham(?) circuit recently.

    08 R6 - Marshy Special

Quick action throttle, Brembo master cylinder, Annitori QS, UK Ntecs about 50% life.

Does anyone know roughly what lap time this would equate to on the EC GP circuit? Or Philip Island??

I started doing track days on Pani in March, best lap on first day back then was 2:43, best lap at PI was a 2:10. I'm sure I'm quicker on the R6 than the Pani now, go figure lol

When the Brabham circuit was introduced and lap times were being compared, it was generally agreed that the new section added 24 seconds, give or take a second. So a 2:09 on the full circuit would be a 1:45 on the GP circuit. Not too shabby! Especially considering your turn 1 entry was rubbish

    Lap Times

I would say anywhere between 20-30 seconds depending on how strong you are in the new section.

I compared the FX 600 boys and it added 20 seconds to their time on average.

Comparing with the likes of me. It adds 25-30 seconds. I have a great dislike for the new bit.

None of these times add up for me. I think i need to do some serious Sth Circuit time.

I don't think i've ridden it since April but back then i was doing something like 2:27. I did 1:55's at PI and 1:49's on the GP at last St George.
I've always been woeful in the hairpin at the bottom of the bowl though. Maybe i'm just faster now......
Time to ring Toprider i think and get stuck into it.

2.15s last time I was on new track in July and I've done 1.44s on GP now. I'm kind of looking forward to doing it again. I don't mind the new parts but not a fan of that hairpin.

So does that mean I might be 1:41-42 you think? I guess I'll find out on the 31st!

Can anyone estimate what my times at PI might be? Given I did a 2:10 my first time out when I did 2:43 on the Branham circuit I'm guessing low 1:40's??

Nah that was 5 months between drinks so my full track time should be 2.10ish now - all other things being equal. You should be 45s at least on GP I would imagine.

It is when you're getting it wrong, and then climbing up out of the bowl again

In general, there's very little time to be made in slow corners. Conversely, fast corners have HEAPS of time to be gained. Unless you've already got it sorted, the biggest place to make up bulk time at the Creek is turn 1. If you are in the high 1:40s (GP circuit), eg 46s to 49s, there's often anything up to 5 seconds to be gained through there alone. Getting it even partly right can drop 2 to 3 seconds almost immediately.
