YEC ECU and Harness- R6 or R1

    Yullo,

Is anyone else out there actually running a YEC ECU / Harness combination ?

I've started swapping all of the necessary sensors over to the new project chassis and going through and marking the YEC loom have noticed that they have no provisions for the thermo fans at all.
It makes sense to me that this is because race bikes don't run thermo fans ? I do find them handy both on dry hot track days and occasionally to flick the switch on the out lap when racing and let them run until everyone is gridded up.

Any thoughts / idea's on this one ?

I have the YEC ECU and race harness in both my bikes. You're right - there's no provision for fans at all! There's also no Neutral sensor, so you don't get the N light on the dash....

I hardwire in a fan switch as per my 'how-to' thread. Use the (thoughtfully provided by YEC) accessories switched power/earth source on the harness (near the dash plug). This is also perfect for a lap timer etc.

I decided I'm just going to pull the stickers off mine and give it a bunch of coats without even sanding it haha

If you don't sand it, you'll have a bad time

It's not and show and shine. I'd rather spend time and money on going fast.

Also trying to race prep an aprilia 125, a cb bucket, a dirt track smoker and a spare gsxr600. Nice paint job on fairings is so irrelevant in the scheme of things.

Not judging... and if you ever saw any of my bikes you'd know I agree. But you'll waste your paint by using it without at least a mild prep... might as well save the money and time and just bring the battle scars to the track. I know I did and never regretted it. Well... when ppl point and laugh as you ride by it can get to you if you're feeling vulnerable on that particular day. Not that it ever happened to me or anything...

    Again back on topic.

Is there no triangle speed sensor on the YEC harness either??

Trying to find out if the bazzaz can run without Speed and neutral sensor.

The YEC harness has no speed sensor, no neutral light and no fan allowance.

Yes it does. I don;'t know why this is causing some short circuiting in my brain.

Me too! I'd forgotten that also. but I know I had a gear indicator wired in to a YEC harness, so it's certainly possible (and I don't recall it being hard). I never had a neutral light though. It's pretty easy to do without, although if you were keen, the sensor off the gearbox is still physically there, and the light on the dash is too, so it probably isn't technically too difficult to bodgy up a connection.

Same then. Just grab the signal from the sensor.

I got one with reflashed ECU

    one with YEC ECU

Stock dash is just backup for clearing error codes and in case the HM fails. (touch wood)
