Hi Andrew, If you go onto gearing commander.com and punch in some variables you should be able to get pretty good idea of which way to go . Chain and sprocket wise is it 520 pitch you meant ? Cheers Steve
Hi all, after some advice about gearing for EC GP circuit. Bike is an 04 GSXR750 running 15 teeth on the front and 43 (standard) on the back. 2nd gear is too low around most of the back of the circuit and 3rd gear seems too high. Not too fussed about top speed but would like more drive. What would folks recommend? And any recommended places to purchase other than ebay? Will be replacing chain as well so might go for a 325 conversion kit.
Thanks, Andrew

Thanks Steve. Yeah, meant 520 pitch

When I set up Phat3R's old gixxer, I'm pretty sure we went with a 15/45 combo. He can confirm, when he jumps on here for a look-see. But that would be pretty close to right. So you're right that at the moment it's not in the right gearing zone. A change will sort that out.
If you're not in any sort of hurry, somewhere like motomummy.com will get you a chain and sprockets set about as cheap as you're likely to get. It's not actually all that much more expensive to pop into MCAS and pick up a set. Their Renthal sprockets are just as cheap as overseas (they are the importer), but their chains aren't as good or as well priced.

Thanks Marshy. At the moment, coming out of turn 5 I'm winding it open as hard as I can but it's only making power just as it's time for turn 6. Will jump into motomummy and have a look.
That sounds good. Thanks Phat3R!

There are a lot of factors to consider including lap times and riding style mid, exit corner speed etc. I only use 2nd gear at t2 & old 9
I'm running 14/44 on an older model 750. It struggles to drive anything higher unlike a 1000.
