never rode on them.. I guess each suspension is only as good as how it is set up
Just finished fitting Matris cartridges to the customer R6 I build from scratch (thread here: http://tarmactalk.com/forum/showthre...ew-to-racebike ). I've gotta go on record again with just how fabulously good the Matris stuff is! The machining, build quality and tolerances are simply beautiful, and the end result is an absolutely fantastic feeling fork. Top stuff.
Pics of the difference between the Matris compression piston and the OEM piston (each side).

Yes and no. The design and materials make a pretty big difference too. Eg the 30mm NIX cartridges are always a compromise and not very good for racing, as they have two major issues: firstly, the design means they can't refill the cartridge quickly enough without cavitating... which is sort-of ok on a road bike, but absolutely shit on a race bike. Secondly, the tolerances and build quality is pretty ordinary compared to some of the better stuff (eg Matris, Ktech), so you get leakage/flow where you don't necessarily want it. Again, it's only a big deal in a race environment.
Then there's setup on top of that

They look sweet.
Setup is very important, but you cannot polish a shit "you can role one in glitter though"
Have to agree here. Having seen these in the metal, they're amazing!!
Ultra low tolerance, excellent finish

They sure look proffesional,my suspension guy quoted $4/5k for ohlins both ends, settled for revalve and springs under 1k including rebuilt steering dampener.
Well into 30's with this and great tyre wear as well.BPF on most new jap bikes very underrated IMO...just sayin for those not racing.
